NANUBØRN

The founding principle of the work of the organisation Nanu is: that all children have a right to a good life. This principle is part of the UN convention on children’s rights from 1989, which Greenland became a part of in the spring of 1992. Reading the UN convention on children’s rights it shows that children are entitled to:
» Having basic rights fulfilled e.g. caring, food, health and a roof over their heads
» Developing through play, school education, spare time and information
» To be protected from war, neglect, violence etc.
» Having their freedom of speech, participation and influence

We don’t believe that all children of today’s Greenland are having these rights. The organisation Nanu would like to change this. We emphasize on acting now to secure all children’s rights and to give the children a chance to improve their lives today.
